Casual Work Opportunities


Country Ribbon Inc. is an integrated chicken production and processing company that markets products under the Country Ribbon, Pinehill and Cabot Farms brand names. Country Ribbon operates a livestock feed mill, production complex and processing plant in the St. John’s area.

We are establishing a pool of casual plant workers for our Processing Plant in Pleasantville. Casual workers will be laid off and recalled depending on operational requirements and may have an opportunity to become part of the regular workforce subject to seniority provisions. Successful candidates must be able to provide an acceptable Certificate of Conduct, pass a drug screening test and demonstrate ability to meet other prerequisites of the job. This is a unionized environment and the starting wage is $15.50 per hour plus 11% in lieu of benefits. Shifts may inlcude day/evening/or nights and the number of hours available per week may fluctuate depending on production requirements.

Machinery Maintenance

Machinery Maintenance Person

After more than 27 years of valuable service, our Machinery Maintenanceman is retiring! As such we have a need to replace him at our Feed Mill on Topsail Road. This is a unionized environment with a current wage rate of between $19-$20 per hour and a full benefits package. The Machinery Maintenance Person will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of plant equipment at the Mill.

Preference will be given to candidates who have some formal training in the Millwright trade or an equivalent level of education and experience. A knowledge of welding, plant electrical systems, conveyors and related moving components is required. Good problem solving skills is a must. Valid driver’s license is also required.

Production Worker

We are also looking to hire a Production Worker for our Feed Mill on Topsail Road. We take pride in producing high quality poultry and other farm animal feeds. If you enjoy working in a fast paced environment and are capable of multi tasking and learning new skills, consider joining our workforce. Successful candidates will be trained to do a variety of tasks at the Mill and must be mechanically inclined, capable of lifting 25 kg bags of ingredients, hold a class 5 driver’s license, have a working knowledge of computers and be willing to work shift work. Experience working in a production environment would be an asset. This is a unionized environment with a current starting wage rate of $18.23 per hour
